Just a few year ago, not many people had heard of Rossville, Tennessee – but Norfolk Southern and its development partners are helping put this town on the map.

Rossville, now home to the largest intermodal facility in Norfolk Southern’s 22-state network, allows for the seamless transfer of freight containers between trucks and trains. The $105 million terminal is expected to attract significant economic investment as businesses co-locate near vital transportation infrastructure. The new facility feeds directly into Gateway Global Logistics Center over private, heavy-weight roads.

The new Rossville intermodal facility is part of Norfolk Southern's Crescent Corridor initiative, a 2,500-mile rail route connecting the Southeast and Northeast. It is the largest infrastructure project in Norfolk Southern’s 180-year history, and one of the single biggest additions of new freight capacity in America since the creation of the Interstate Highway System
